Congratulations to Stem Shock, who has been named champion at the 2016 Greater Vancouver Clean Technology Expo & Championship!
Sponsored by the BC Innovation Council and Foresight Clean Accelerator Centre, the Greater Vancouver Clean Technology & Expo Championship showcases new and innovative clean technologies from across the region.
Stem Shock was named the top clean technology company and took home the top prize, $10,000 cash from Vancity.
Stem Shock’s technology is a programmable, non-GMO herbicide platform that addresses the growing threat of invasive, herbicide-resistant superweeds.
The active ingredient in Stem Shock is natural, biodegradable, non-replicating, and a non-integrating RNA technology. Therefore, the technology is neither harmful to people or the environment.
Stem Shock was a top 25 company in our 2015 competition. Their technology was awarded the $22,000 BCIC Resource Industry Prize Package.
Today, the company is moving their research and development into a commercialization phase, and are in the middle of their first major financing round.
