Congratulations to Aspect Biosystems, who has been awarded a $450,00 grant by the National Research Council-Industry Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP)!Aspect Biosystems

Aspect Biosystems, who won second place in our 2014 competition, has created a proprietary technology that enables 3D bioprinting and cell tissue engineering. The grant funding will be used to advance the development of its Lab-on-a-Printer platform and associated 3D bioprinted tissue applications.

The NRC-IRAP is a Canadian government-sponsored program that provides technical and business advisory services and financial contributions supporting the development and commercialization of innovative technologies developed by qualified firms.

Earlier in 2016, Aspect Biosystems closed an oversubscribed seed round, which was funded by the local Vancouver Angel community. They have also been recognized as the Most Promising Startup’ at 2016 Technology Impact Awards.
