We’re pleased to announce that New Ventures BC is one of 48 founding organizations of the Cascadia Venture Acceleration Network (CVAN). The network consists of accelerators, universities, investors and industry associations partnering to support entrepreneurs and researchers across the Pacific Northwest: British Columbia, Washington state and Oregon.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed on December 8, 2017, extending a September 2016 partnership between British Columbia and Washington state aiming to support innovation.

“The Cascadia Venture Acceleration Network holds great potential for tech innovation: connecting research, industry, academia and investment across the Pacific Northwest,” said Bruce Ralston, BC Minister of Jobs, Trade and Technology. “The Government of BC fully supports this significant agreement. By working together towards shared goals, our regions can create a powerful innovation economy that benefits from local talent and entrepreneurship.”

Initially, CVAN will focus on the life sciences, information technology, and clean tech industries, expanding to include other sectors in the future. We’re excited to be a part of CVAN’s focus on innovation implementation and commercialization.
