Fixing the Frontlines of Healthcare

PeerSupport.io is tackling one of the biggest crises in healthcare: long wait times and clinician burnout. Their flagship platform, Spotlight, is an AI-powered referral and care navigation tool that integrates directly with electronic medical records (EMRs). It streamlines the entire process by automating referrals, predicting patient needs, and instantly matching individuals to the right care.

The result? Faster treatment, fewer patients lost in the system, and less time spent on paperwork. Clinics using Spotlight have seen wait times drop by up to 27 weeks, saved over $200,000 annually, and reported a 93% reduction in administrative stress—making it a proven, scalable solution to a broken system.

Rooted in Care, Ready to Grow

What they’ve done: Since launching their first pilot in 2020, PeerSupport.io has expanded to support major health systems across Canada, helping clinics save six figures annually and slash referral wait times by nearly 30 weeks. The company has earned backing from Panache Ventures, secured government grants from Yukon, and maintained a revenue-first approach from the beginning. Founder Chirag Jahdwani was named to Yukonstruct’s Hall of Innovators and headlined the pitch stage at TechTO. But their proudest achievement? Earning the trust of frontline clinicians who say Spotlight helps them deliver better, faster care.

Why NVBC: Born in the North and scaled in BC, PeerSupport.io sees the New Ventures BC Competition, presented by Innovate BC, as a natural home. With a seed round on the horizon, the team joined the competition to connect with like-minded investors, share their story, and learn from fellow founders building high-impact solutions. It’s a chance to show what’s possible when innovation is rooted in empathy and built outside the usual tech hotspots.

Up Next: PeerSupport.io is gearing up to scale Spotlight across larger Canadian health systems while raising their seed round. Their mission remains clear: cut delays, reduce burnout, and bring clarity back to care. As they grow, they’re staying grounded in what matters most—building tech that lightens the load for clinicians and gets patients the help they need, faster.

Built from Grit

The healthtech startup’s biggest challenge has been building without the usual advantages—no big-name investors, no flashy resumes. Founder Chirag Jahdwani went through three founding teams, wrote much of the original code himself, and kept the company afloat with grant money and determination. That resilience now defines the team of eight, who’ve carried that early grit forward. They move with purpose, listen closely to clinicians, and build tech that serves real needs.

For PeerSupport.io, this isn’t just a startup—it’s a mission to fix a system that’s been broken for far too long.
