Last week Greater Victoria’s $2-billion technology sector got a glimpse at the 2011 Victoria Advanced Technology Council’s (VIATeC) award finalists and a number of BCIC-New Ventures competitors made the grade.
The Emerging Tech Company category was dominated by BCIC-New Ventures competitors with Bet Smart Media, Checkfront Inc., and Wifarer all being singled out as well as BCIC-New Ventures Competition: Regional 1st prize winner Reef Safe Fish Inc. also making the short list.
2011 competitor AdviceScene was also nominated in the Online Strategy category.
The awards recognize individuals, companies and employers behind all of the hard work in the technology industry. They are given the opportunity to stand out in front of their peers for their great accomplishments achieved throughout the year. Finalists and recipients will be recognized in front of over five hundred executives, senior decision makers, government representatives and the media at the awards gala on June 2nd.
