BCIC-New Ventures’ 25 round-three competitors have been hard at work on their Round 3 business overviews which were submitted on August 8th.
Competition judges will announce the 10 finalists on September 4th but in the meantime let’s have a closer look at the Top 25.
Launched in March of 2011, BackyardBC.com provides discounted hotel rates to residents of British Columbia.
Each participating property has a promo code on BackyardBC.com, and all reservations are made directly with the hotel either online or over the phone. With nearly 70 participating hotels and resorts in the program so far, Backyard BC offers an easy way for consumers to save money on accommodation.
Brian Friesen, the company’s founder, recognized that hotels were looking for ways to increase direct bookings, and knew that the resident market represented a significant opportunity. The company is looking to expand into Florida and California next year.
