The following blog post was written by Lindsay Thom and was published earlier this month on BCIC’s blog as part of a series profiling BCIC-NewVentures Competition: Regional Top 20 Finalists.

Ripcharger has designed and developed a kit for supercharging a two-stroke engine. Supercharging is a method of forced air induction which, when coupled with added fuel, increases the horsepower and torque relative to the amount of forced air or boost applied, increasing fuel efficiency.
The supercharger’s main benefit is instant power – there’s no lag or delay of boost delivery. In addition to instantaneous power, the Ripcharger kit offers weight reduction, no excess heat buildup, and simple installation. Initially developed for snowmobiles, the supercharging kit has potential for many other markets.
Congratulations to Ripcharger and best of luck in the last round of the competition. Winners of the BCIC-NV: Regional will be announced on February 24, 2011 in Kelowna.
