Stability. Safety. Speed. Smarter Gear for Cyclists.

Today’s cyclists ride with more gear than ever—phones, cameras, lights, bags, even pet carriers—but most mounting systems haven’t kept up. Riders deal with shaky video footage, slow gear removal, crowded handlebars, and single-use mounts that limit versatility and safety.

Axis Base is rethinking how cyclists manage their gear. Its modular mounting system isolates devices from steering input, reduces vibration by up to 40%, supports over 20 device types (including third-party mounts), and allows full gear removal in seconds—without tools.

Whether commuting through the city or filming remote adventures, Axis Base delivers stability, convenience, and multi-device freedom for modern riders.

Pedals, Patents, and Progress

What they’ve done: This North Vancouver startup has hit the ground pedaling. After several years of R&D and prototype testing, Axis Base was officially founded in 2024. From day one, they set out to build a strong foundation—securing early IP protection with a provisional patent, validating patentability through a professional search, and locking in their brand assets. In 2025, they unveiled the brand, earned IP Pathways certification, advanced their global IP and business strategy, and positioned the company for international scale.

Why NVBC: The team entered the 2025 New Ventures BC Competition, presented by Innovate BC, to sharpen their commercialization plan, get expert feedback, and connect with BC’s innovation ecosystem. The mentorship and training have helped Axis Base refine their story, validate product-market fit, and prepare for a broader audience beyond cycling enthusiasts.

Up Next: Axis Base is gearing up to launch across North America, with a focus on DTC sales, content-driven marketing, and community engagement. With global IP execution underway, the team is focused on finalizing manufacturing plans, building pre-launch awareness through its go-to-market strategy of creator partnerships and targeted campaigns, and preparing for direct-to-consumer expansion. The mission: simplify cycling gear management and deliver safer, more convenient, and more stable rides for commuters, content creators, and adventure cyclists.

The Advice That Stuck

“Build IP as early and intentionally as your product.”

For Axis Base, that advice became foundational. By treating IP as a strategic asset—not just legal protection—they shaped early design decisions, prioritized filings before public disclosure, and built an IP foundation that now supports future funding, partnerships, and market expansion. With guidance from mentors, legal counsel, and the New Ventures BC community, IP strategy became core to how Axis Base operates and grows.

The insight came from mentors, legal experts, and the NVBC community—and it’s now embedded in the company’s DNA.
