How it works

Led by New Ventures BC with prime collaborator Innovate BC, and delivered in partnership with a network of partners and collaborators, AccelerateIP supports startups at every stage of their IP journey through three tailored streams:

Stream 1 – IP Education & Awareness: Build a strong foundation with expert-led IP training, webinars, asynchronous online modules, and more.

  • IP Certification Program

By finishing the cohort-based IP Certification Program, you’ll gain a Certificate of Completion, a LinkedIn badge, and “Certified” status. Completing an education course is one way to meet the education eligibility requirement for Streams 2-2 and 3.

Stream 2 – IP Strategy

    • 2-1 Mentorship: Get 1:1 mentorship to align your IP strategy with your business goals
    • 2-2 Funding Supports Turn your IP plans into action with up to $25,000 in legal funding supports

Stream 3IP Implementation

Receive up to $60,000 in funding supports to implement key IP protections.

Why It Matters

Companies that own IP report increased revenue, competitive advantages, and stronger long-term business prospects—yet only one-fifth of Canadian businesses hold any form of IP.  AccelerateIP is here to change that.
