Congrats to Mazza Innovation, who has received $1.1M from the Ministry of Agriculture and Agri-food, on behalf of the Government of Canada!

The investment was announced by Minister of Sport and Persons with Disabilities, Carla Qualtrough, on behalf of Minister of Agriculture and Agri-food, Lawrence MacAulay.

Mazza Innovation specializes in producing plant extracts using healthy and clean technologies. The funds will be used to expand Mazza’s plant extract production facility in Delta.

Benjamin Lightburn, President of Mazza, comments, “This investment will help us meet demand from personal care, food supplement and food manufacturing companies worldwide.”

Qualtrough added, “This is a solid example of the Government partnering with agri-based companies on innovations that add value to agricultural products, create good local jobs and bring economic prosperity to the agricultural sector and to our community of Delta.”

The $1.1 million of funding builds on a previous $300,000 federal investment in Mazza.

Mazza Innovation won our $20,000 BC Bioenergy Network prize in 2012. To learn more about the company, visit Mazza’s website.
