Over the recent years, smart grid has emerged as an important framework to realize the desirable goals of efficiency and cost effectiveness for an electricity transmission system. A smart grid integrates two-way digital communication technology that analyzes, monitors and streamlines the system to maximize throughput, while promoting and enabling a reduction of overall energy consumption. Dr. Hassan Farhangi will present on the development of the Microgrid Project at BCIT as well as insights on the trends and applications of this technology.
