Founded by students, Riipen has built a platform for student to solve the graduation conundrum – you can’t get a job without experience, but can’t get experience without a job. Riipen is a skill-based assessment platform that helps companies pick the best graduating talent. It works by allowing companies to post small projects, and allows students to work for class credit, employer recommendations, money and other incentives.

It’s a win-win situation as employers can crowdsource new ideas from emerging talent, build their brand among students, and develop a talent pool of future employees. Students get an opportunity to demonstrate their skills, expand their network, gain practical experience, and build a virtual portfolio that companies can trust. Co-founders Dave Savory and Dana Stephenson were frustrated with the lack of experiential education they were receiving in university, and Riipen is their solution.
