Clotho was founded in 2015 after co-founders Hanna Wheale and Matthew Danchuk started their own fashion label and quickly realized the limitations of fabric sourcing. They struggled to find the right styles while attending trade shows and visiting fabric warehouse across North America. The pair then decided to make their own fabric using digital textile printing. In February of this year, they launched Clotho, a service that uses a unique manufacturing process to print on natural fiber fabrics. Customers choose a fabric, upload their textile design, and submit their order for custom printing. Clotho is seeking to eliminate waste and change the fashion industry by developing made-to-order printing into digitally automated garment production.
